The load cell looks the same quality

Load cells belong to the load cell is a commonly used measuring instrument, often used for static measurement and dynamic measurement. Load cells are used in a wide range of applications in industrial, electronic, electric power, metallurgy, and machinery.

From the surface, it seems that a conventional load cell is simply composed of aluminum or hardened steel components, resistance strain gauges, compensation resistors, interconnects, filler materials and coatings or coatings. So how many different load cells with the same appearance are different?

Suppose a high-quality industrial load cell has: good moisture resistance - moisture is the leading cause of load cell failure; durability - the most conservative design also requires the sensor to withstand more than 100,000 cycles of loading, No fatigue failure occurs; compliance with published specifications 1 includes linearity, hysteresis and temperature compensation; consistency from performance of one batch of sensors to another. Not all sensor manufacturers produce sensors that meet these performance requirements.

Weighing sensors from different manufacturers look the same outside, but there will be differences in performance, reliability and consistency. There are two main aspects: The first is the role of durability: the most basic design of the load cell is to determine its durability, it must withstand 100,000 times of weighing, without mechanical fatigue caused by failure. Using computer finite element analysis to optimize the design of the load cell without any stress concentration on the sensor, so that the stress can be evenly concentrated in the strain gauge. This compact design ensures that the load cell can withstand overload.

The second is the moisture-proof effect: the resistance strain gauge in the load cell is most susceptible to moisture. The ingress of moisture into the resistance strain gauge can result in unstable or even overall failure of the load cell.

Therefore, the design of the load cell is protected by the following:

1. Package resistance strain gauge - cover the strain gauge with waterproof material.

2. Control the environment or create a low-humidity environment – a load cell that prevents moisture from entering the seal.

3, high-quality composite waterproof seal - keep the sensor components unaffected and have minimal permeability throughout the operating temperature.

4. Welding seals, glass and metal cable joints are sometimes very effective.

5. The high-quality load cell cable tightly combines the conductor and the casing to prevent moisture from entering the interior through the cable core.
